Thermal Switches

Thermal switches, also know as immersion thermostats, are thermally sensitive, bi-metallic switches housed in cases aka enclosures of

  • rugged brass
  • stainless steel

DECA Manufacturing owns Thermtrol’s complete line of thermal switches and manufactures these devices at our plant in Ohio. The switches are manufactured to either make or break an electrical circuit at a factory pre-set temperature and they reset automatically on cooling. Devices are designed as

  • regulating thermostats, cycling open and closed to maintain a temperature level
  • over-temperature protectors to limit a temperature from exceeding a predetermined value

Design Flexibility for Custom Thermostats

DECA offers complete design flexibility for custom immersion thermostats by drawing from an extensive inventory of standard components and building the thermostat that is correct for your application.

Our products include:

  • Regulating Thermostats
  • Overtemperatures Thermostats
    • Standard
    • High Contact Capacity
    • High Temperature High Contact Capacity
    • Miniature Thermostats

Miniature Thermostats

  • available temperature range:45˚C – 150˚C
  • standard set temperature tolerance:+/- 10˚C
  • standard differential: 30˚C.
  • lower temperatures have smaller differential. Contact us for details.

Numbering System

Numbering System Information Chart

Our thermal switches are identified with a numbering code that indicates:

  • switch code type and material
  • housing style
  • collar code
  • status
  • set temperature
  • termination options

Testing and quality control

We test our temperature switches using an oil bath; or for products with higher temperature ratings, an oven is used. Data is logged for tracking purposes.
